As a general family dental practice, we are pleased to offer comprehensive dentistry for patients of all ages. Our goal is to help you maintain optimal oral health, and we all take pride in helping our patients enjoy truly exceptional smiles.
We start seeing children as early as age three when many of their baby teeth have emerged and their dental development is ready to take off. Helping your child develop a positive attitude about their oral health care now will benefit them into adolescence and adulthood.
The American Dental Association recommends these preventive visits every six months to stay a step ahead of problems.
New patients may require updated x-rays, which are invaluable in helping us find and treat problems at their earliest stages. Our state-of-the-art digital x-rays allow us to identify oral issues, but we also use them as an educational tool. We can display the images on your chairside monitor so Dr. Young can point out potential problem areas.
When you can see for yourself what the problem is, you can easily understand why treatment is necessary.
Many patients at a higher risk for decay and disease may benefit from special dental sealants and fluoride treatments, which can help maintain dental health. A sealant is a thin coating of plastic applied to uneven teeth chewing surfaces like molars to seal out decay-causing bacteria.
When gum disease develops, we must address the problem quickly to reverse the condition and restore your smile to full health. Periodontal disease treatment by one of our skilled hygienists will thoroughly remove plaque and tartar from your teeth and help restore you to a healthier smile. Other treatments may include deep cleanings below the gumline and gum recontouring.
Even if you take excellent care of your teeth, you may get a cavity. So we are pleased to offer our patients beautiful, seamless repairs created with tooth-colored composite fillings.
The material looks similar to natural dental enamel, so in addition to fillings, we can use it to repair chipped, cracked, or broken teeth or even completely alter the shape of a tooth.
Like most people, you probably don't have a positive reaction to the thought of having a root canal. But this is an essential procedure required when a tooth is so decayed or damaged that extraction is the only alternative.
Dr. Young, a top dentist in Winter Springs, FL, has performed hundreds of comfortable root canals for our patients, and our caring team will be by your side to support and encourage you.
If you are missing most or all of your teeth, we are happy to talk to you about restoring your smile with full or partial dentures. Modern dentures look as much like your natural teeth as possible. We take time to work with you to customize the details so you know what to expect and are thrilled with the results.
Many patients are concerned about their dentures shifting and moving, and we will be happy to talk to you about stabilizing them with dental implants.

A root canal is a procedure that is needed when an infection develops, causing severe pain and threatening the health of your tooth. If we don’t save the tooth by performing a root canal, the only remaining option is extraction.During a root canal, Dr. Young opens up a small hole in your tooth that he uses to access the infection. Using state-of-the-art instruments, he gently and thoroughly cleans out the inner portion of your tooth, clears away the infection, then seals the tooth with a filling material. After a tooth has had root canal treatment, it tends to become brittle and will require a restoration like a dental crown to strengthen it and protect it from damage. The team at Advanced Dental Care understands that even though a root canal infection can be painful, you may be tempted to avoid treatment. You should know that we always put your needs and comfort first. Our team will go out of their way to support you during your procedure, and Dr. Young can also prescribe a calming medication for you to take beforehand. If you have a toothache, tenderness, and sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures, you may have a root canal infection. Please call us and we will be sure to get you on our schedule right away, often the same day.
We recommend electric toothbrushes. Electric toothbrushes have a timer ensuring that you brush forthe full recommended 2 minutes. Additionally, most electric toothbrushes have a sensor that will letyou know if you are brushing too hard so you don’t damage your gums.
Flossing is important to clean in between teeth where your tooth brush cannot reach. For patients whohave difficulty flossing we recommend a Waterpik water flosser. The Waterpik’s head can angle to gounder the gum line, further than floss, making it ideal for cleaning around bridges, implants, andperiodontally involved areas.
The American Dental Association recommends visiting a dentist two times a year - about every six months. However, depending on your specific needs you may need to be seen more frequently. By making regular visits to your dentist we can often catch problems while they are small and less expensive.
