We are now seeing patients at our new office! We thank you for your patience during this transition.
We look forward to seeing you at 1315 Tuskawilla Rd Suite #113, Winter Springs, 32708.

I've been told I have a cavity, but my tooth doesn't hurt. Why is that?

When a cavity starts, it is very small, and you won’t feel any pain. Even as it grows and spreads, you may or may not feel sensitivity or discomfort in the tooth.

That being said, every person has a different threshold for pain. Generally, once a tooth gets to the point where it really hurts, the decay has grown and penetrated the tooth and is close to the nerve. At this stage, the only solution for saving the tooth may be a root canal.

It is always best to take care of a cavity when it is small. Your preventive semi-annual checkups are crucial because Dr. Young can detect small problems and address them long before they result in discomfort and complicated or costly treatment.

If it has been a while since your last dental checkup, please call your team at Advanced Dental Care. Please don’t worry that we will lecture or shame you if you have gotten a little too relaxed with your oral health care. Whatever problem you are facing, we are here to help you resolve it so you can get on with your life and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have a healthy smile.
